We got married here on the 7th of September 2017. What can we say...from start to finish the whole day was amazing. The food was amazing, the rooms were amazing, everything was just perfect!! We would highly recommend this hotel for a wedding. Thanks again Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel for making our fairytale wedding come true! We can genuinely say it was the best day of our lives...
The food on the day was amazing and having tasted the menu a couple of months before it did not disappoint. The chef paid particular attention to any requests or changes we wanted and assured us as he recorded all the details in his diary that it would be taken care of. Another extravagant touch was the piping out of the main course. Both of us felt like royalty as the piper led the dinner party out who then brought forward the main course, sparklers and all, for our inspection. The guests looked on in amazement as we beamed from cheek to cheek and waved our appreciation. This grand gesture, along with all the others made the day truly memorable.
The location for us was idyllic. From the moment we stepped in we could feel the history and romance the hotel offered and we fell in love with the idea of having a castle wedding. The gardens outside are perfect for a garden reception, but we decided to make use of the ornate dungeon bar. The ambience was perfect and both ourselves and our guests really appreciated the small details such as the paintings and statues which really brought the castle to life. The main function room was honestly stunning on the day, and I was really taken aback at how much better it looked on the day compared to the open viewing, which was already very nice. Also the gardens at the back provided a great area for chilling out and getting some fresh air. It was perfect for taking some time out to enjoy the moment.
All in all we couldn’t be happier with how the day went and credit must go to all involved at Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel for making our day the magical, spectacular and amazing day it was. We would be happy to recommend the hotel to anybody and I am confident, in fact I know our guests feel the same way.
Amanda and I met in a place where I imagine a lot of couples make their first steps towards a blossoming romance. As unromantic as it may seem we met in work. We both had part time jobs in a service station, she worked on the deli and I worked on the forecourt. However we both worked different shifts so we rarely had a chance to interact with each other.
That was until I happened upon Amanda while on the search for a breakfast roll after a football match. Being the quintessential Irish romance I immediately got one of my best friends (one of my best men) who also happened to work with Amanda to put in some inquiries on my behalf. Happy with his findings I managed to get her number from him and the texting began.
I probably should have shares in Vodafone by now such was the amount of money I pumped into the company in the form of credit. No doubt their rise in fortunes came about in parallel with my increasing number of texts to Amanda. Low and behold here we are 13 years later married and enjoying life.
Our ceremony was performed by Fr Donal Roche in St Patricks church Wicklow Town and it was perfect. The priest ensured everybody was relaxed and even though the wrong candle was lit at one point we felt relaxed and happy throughout. Georgina Jameson provided the music for the occasion and her wonderful voice and acoustic guitar skills were appreciated by everybody attending. She really helped create the perfect atmosphere for the day.
Jill our wedding co-ordinator was a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating to any special requests we had for the big day. She was always quick to reply to any queries we had, and her confident and friendly manner put us at ease at what could have been a very stressful time. She constantly re-assured us with her diligence and attention to detail which was second to none. We were confident on the day that nothing would go wrong and we are happy to report it couldn’t have gone better.
All the other members of staff combined on the day to create a truly spectacular occasion and we were hugely impressed by their professional manner and skilled approach. It was obvious the staff had been trained for such occasions and they never let us down. From second helpings of food, to extra glasses of wine and pulling out chairs, everything was handled expertly. One particular senior member of the waiting staff made sure everybody was being looked after and his attention to detail was remarkable. We have had guests rave about how good the set up was for weeks after and the staff including the piper ,who learned the Star Wars theme especially for us, were excellent.
I purchased my wedding dress in Bcouture Bridal Boutique in Arklow. This was my third time looking for a wedding dress and as they say third time lucky! As soon as I went into the shop I knew I was going to find my dress here. The staff were so kind and very helpful, especially Caryln. From start to finish everything was perfect. I had the alterations done with Sew Perfect Bridal Alterations in Gorey. They did a great job and my dress was amazing when all the alterations were completed.
The suits for Eoghan, the best men and our page boy were ordered from Jack Dunne and Sons in Gorey.
We found Paul to be kind and very helpful and we would highly recommend them to anybody searching for the perfect Wedding suit.
My hair, nails and make up was expertly applied and created by a very good friend Leanne Martin from Be-U-Beauty. She did a fantastic job on both myself and my bridesmaids. She did all of our hair and make up on her own plus the mother of the brides too!
Our photographer Ian Hennessy captured all aspects of our Ceremony & Wedding day perfectly (www.hennessyphoto.ie).
