My wife and I were guests at an after-funeral meal here recently and I have to say that we were both really very impressed by the whole operation. The occasion was a fine example of the practicalities involved in feeding a large group of people. The guests were seated at tables holding about 8 persons each. The menus offering 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 desserts, were already in place. The orders were then taken by the waiting staff who used table maps to keep track of who had ordered what so you did not have waiters waving platefuls of food around asking who's for the chicken..... and who's for fish. First of all I must say that the food was of very high quality and this is one of the best meals we have had of this type, ever. The hot food was exactly that, hot, and it arrived at the table at a perfect temperature. How was all this achieved? By clever catering logistics is the answer. There was a set of bains-maries keeping the food warm in one corner of the room and when it came to serving the main courses two chefs appeared as if from nowhere and served up the food in double quick time to be quickly taken away by the waiting staff. This has to be one of the slickest operations I have had the pleasure of watching. Well done to everyone involved here, you made the occasion a special one for us. Thanks!

My wife and I stayed here for one night for my wife's birthday. As well as a personalised birthday card for my wife in our fab room we were also treated to complimentary prosecco at dinner, the food was delicious in grill restaurant.  Our stay was fantastic and made all the more memorable by the actions of the wonderful staff. Our only regret was we could not stay longer but we will definitely be back!!

A wonderful old world interior with great areas to sit with friends for long cups of tea and scones or some other delight. The room we had was great, the bed was amazing, the bath lovely and the food in The Grill was outstanding. The staff was always eager to advise regarding trips to the village, which was only a 16 minute walk, or into Dublin (train station was in the village so very handy. Six of us girls loved the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel Dublin.

Beautiful hotel
We stayed in this hotel for a night in March. It was beyond beautiful. We stayed in the Royal Suite and I could not reckoned any place better to stay!
The view from the Royal suite is breathtaking, I never realised how beautiful Dublin was until I seen this view. The room itself is beautify done, The decor is gorgeous and warming. There is a spacious balcony attached to this room and we were fortunate enough to have lovely weather and take full advantage of our balcony & view. The staff here are wonderful. They are extremely welcoming and helpful. I would like to thank Jordan and Coleman in particular for being so good to us during our stay they are excellent employees for any hotel to have on they're team. The food here is delicious. They're is so much choice on what to to eat there is definitely something for everyone. Fantastic pool and gym facilities and a massage/beauty parlour attached to the hotel. If you are staying in Dublin this is the 1 place I would recommend.

A luxury Christmas escape!
We treated ourselves to our first Christmas escape and were more than well looked after by the staff. Our Suite, room 108, in the old part of the Castle was outstanding and was everything you would imagine a stay in a Castle should be. Andrea on reception welcomed us and gave us a map of the area to help us get around. Carmen and her staff looked after us at breakfast every morning. On Christmas Eve a delicious meal was served in PJ's Restaurant and John Fitzgerald looked after us most charmingly.
On Christmas Day the owners of the hotels, Eithne and Mark, greeted each guest for lunch and escorted us all to our table in the banqueting hall - such a beautifully decked out room. The Head Chef and all of his staff produced an exciting menu and wonderful food for a full house. Great to see happy smiles on guests and staff faces. There were other memorable events like the Carol Services, Champagne Reception etc. Excellent and congratulations to all involved. We hope to enjoy a return visit and a stay in suite 108.

The staff was great here. The hotel staff to the restaurant and bar staff was top notch and always going the extra mile. The hotel itself was nice and had an elegant and old charm. Upon arrival, my buddy and I were put into a room with one queen bed. Turns out the travel agency had set it up that way. Called the front desk and asked if they had a room with two single beds. The staff not only accommodated with a new room but gave us a bigger room with two queen beds. A nice upgrade and no extra charge! Couldn't ask for more! Made the last leg of our trip very comfortable. I would highly recommended this hotel and the location was also excellent! Have to go up to the top of Killenny Hill and see the sunrise! Loved this place and hope to go there again. Also, easy access to get to and from the airport since the Air Coach runs there 24 hours a day! Thanks to the staff for an amazing stay!

My family and I love the Fitzpatrick Hotel! We stay here every year at Easter time, as there is an Easter egg hunt and an Easter bunny, which my kids all love. We have been coming here every year and every year it is amazing! The rooms are clean and comfortable, the buffet breakfast is great, the pool is so fun and friendly, the grounds are beautiful, and the staff treat you like family! There is a kids club so the parents can have a quiet meal whilst the kids draw, watch movies and magic shows! The Dungeon Bar serves great food and drink. This hotel is super child-friendly and great for families so you should just book it now! We love the Fitzpatrick Hotel!

Stayed at the excellent Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel last weekend. From the moment we arrived to the morning we left we received exemplary service from all members of staff. We arrived a little early to check in however we were able to make full use of the fully equipped gym, pool and spa facilities on offer. That evening we dined in The Grill restaurant located in the original dungeon of the castle. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced (2 courses for €25). I had the house specialty of the seafood chowder which was very tastey and full of chunks of fresh fish followed by the duck for mains which was also top class. The following morning we made use of the gym and pool again which was followed by an excellent buffet breakfast with a wide choice of selection between hot and cold food. Would highly recommend to any couples looking to escape the city center for a night and unwind in the beautiful grounds of the castle.

This was our first night stay on our maiden trip to Ireland. The welcoming staff were so helpful, the setting so Victorian, the accommodations so comfortable. You really feel welcomed. There are trails behind the castle for strolling, jogging or running. A huge local playground for children. Beautiful views of the bay from the top of the walking path mountain. If you are looking for peacefulness in this little touch of Irish History, this is the place to stay. A quick 15 to 20 minute walk gets you into town and the train to Dublin is only 30 minutes away. Really enjoyed the Irish breakfasts and hospitality of this hotel.

We were a party of 26 - all family. We had Teens, Tweens, smallies and adults. First of all - the hotel were amazing. The communion boy got a lovely card, and a present from the hotel. Lovely touch. He got to go swimming with his cousins later - another great idea. There was an entertainer - and all the children got to sit together at a table by themselves - nobody telling them what they could or couldn't eat. They loved that. the adults said the food was fabulous - every single choice - you can't beat that. The staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. They let us bring in a cake - they sliced it several different ways so that people could take some home - they looked after the children, they looked after everyone so well. We will - without a doubt - be back here for confirmation - the staff were wonderful. Thank you to everyone - the quality of the food and service here is 7 star! We loved it.

We stayed at the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel for two days as part of a CIE Tour. The room was fantastic and the bed was very comfortable. The service at this hotel was very good and the food was great also. The bar staff were pleasant and enjoyed telling us about their travels and they also enjoyed hearing our stories about our travel. This hotel was very clean and professional. We enjoyed going to the dungeon for a drink. We would stay here again.

Spent a lovely weekend at Fitzpatrick's. The food was excellent. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. It is a short walk down to Dalkey which is a lovely little village Love the fires in the lobby which make it so cosy. Have stayed on occasions for quite a few years now and will continue to do so.

On return from holidays, we stayed two nights in Fitzpatricks. It was a haven from the bad weather. We enjoyed the comfort of our lovely refurnished room and the lovely blazing fires in the large reception and bar area downstairs. We hadn't booked dinner on the evening of our arrival but Axel, the wonderful Maître d', squeezed us in, and we had a very good meal, also the following evening. Margaret in reception also deserves a mention for her friendliness and helpfulness. With the lovely walks around there, shops in proximity and the direct bus to the airport, I highly recommend Fitzpatrick's Castle.

We spent 3 nights in Fitzpatrick Castle, 2 adults + young children. The initial room we booked was too small, which was not fault of the hotel but ours. The reception staff was extremely accommodating in offering a range of upgrade options. We found was a perfect room and enjoyed lots of space for the duration of our stay.
The restaurant was busy on Saturday night but still managed to find us a nice table without reservation. The food was excellent and great value for money. Once more the staff was very helpful despite their intensive workload.
There was a good range of breakfast options and excellent service at all times.
The next days we elected to use the room service as the restaurants were too busy to submit the young kids to the long wait. Funnily enough room service was a very efficient and faster than the restaurants, offering the same wide choice of dishes.
Everyone's favourite was the clamchowder soup, by far one of the best we ever had, very light and tasty with lots of pieces of fish.
The kids enjoyed the 20m swimming pool every morning from 10:00 to 12:00.
This was an excellent stay which unfortunately had to come to an end.
We could not praise enough the staff for making this a wonderful 3 days.
Definitely one to come back to everytime we are in Dublin.

Picture the scene. Daughter is having a sleepover for her 30th birthday and it's an all girls night. Disco, karaoke, the works. Nothing for it but to move out for the night. So we booked into the local Fitzpatrick's Castle Hotel in Killiney.
I have been a frequent visitor to the bar in the hotel which I like, and the lobby area is a lovely space for watching the world go by. I have also attended plenty of functions in the hotel - but I have never stayed overnight.
So, we splashed out and booked a suite - the Royal Suite no less! It turned out to be a beautiful room, nice lounge with TV, fire, writing desk, table for eating and this room even had a small Christmas tree for the time of year.
Fresh fruit and truffles awaited us on the dining table. The safe and the teasmade were cleverly hidden in a cabinet.

The bedroom had a 2 poster bed. A nice large bedroom, the decoration was a bit busy but a nice room all the same. Another TV here with Sky Sports too. Fine wardrobes with his and her gowns, iron etc.
A very nice bathroom with great lighting and his and her washhand basins and mirrors. It also housed a large bath and a separate shower.

This is a corner suite and is on the 5th floor so it has wonderful views. The North facing window looks out to sea with Howth in the distance and Dun Laoghaire piers in view. The other window has a panorama of Dublin city and suburbs.
There is a large balcony with seating along the expanse of the room. A bit chilly in December but I'm sure is lovely in the Summer.

Breakfast was good - plenty of a selection of fresh fruit and plenty of choice.
Staff are very friendly.

I suppose the best recommendation for this hotel is the location. It is on Killiney hill with excellent walks at your doorstep - up over the hill to the Obelisk, then on to the castle and back through the woods. Dalkey village is only down the hill with its wonderful pubs and restaurants.

The port of Dun Laoghaire is a couple of miles away - more great walks along the seafront or on the piers.

Dublin city is accessible via the Dart train - there is a train station in Dalkey.

I nearly forgot - the hotel also has a gym and swimming pool.

I first visited the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Killiney in May of 2013, and just spent another couple nights there in December 2015. The room this time was nothing short of incredible, last time we got the Newlywed Suite (it was birthday, we didn't ask) this time we asked about free upgrades and got a gorgeous two room suite! It was spectacular, a full living room / parlour with a decorated and lit Christmas Tree and a Fireplace - a full size couch, TV private balcony (TWO!) and one and a half baths! The room was on the corner a few floors up and had stunning views of the bay, the sea, and nearby villages. The staff at this hotel are superior- the bartender was most helpful in helping us choose our outings and where to go, and they had great local Irish beers. Only complaint is that the restaurant could be better. We ordered the two vegetarian choices they had, and both were incredibly bland. We will go back everytime we're in the area though! LOVED IT!
